I’m Julie, the girl at Cracker Girl Photography. While my childhood days were spent in East Point and on a farm that hugged the Coosa River in Alabama, I moved “to town” when I was 18 and never left, so I’m also a city girl. The red gingham of Southern frocks and picnics come as natural to me as a little black dress and high heels on a night in the city.
I find no greater joy than when I am taking photographs and will shoot just about anything. I shoot with a Pentax K-5 and an iPhone. I’m not a camera snob and am entertained by the emphatic approach so many people have to brands and “real” cameras vs. phones. As one of my photographer heroes, David duChemin says, “Gear is good. Vision is better.”
My site is mostly me blathering on about scenes I’ve captured, or people I’ve met along the way and have had the honor to photograph. I hope you enjoy what you see. I’d love to hear from you. Shoot me an email here or through my Contact page, and I’ll get back with you soon.
